Just Dance returns to top of UK charts

Ubisoft's Wii exclusive Just Dance has returned for a third non-consecutive appearance at the top of the UK weekly sales charts, with a rise in sales of 56 per cent over the bank holiday weekend.

However, there was a disparity this week between the individual and all formats charts, with Chart-Track confirming to Gamesindustry.biz that combined sales of Pokemon SoulSilver and HeartGold would in fact have made it the best-selling title of the week - as well as the previous two weeks.

Similarly Wii Sports Resort almost equalled the sales of Just Dance, with a 52 per cent increase in sales, but charted only at number six in the all formats charts.

As it was, combined sales of the multiformat Just Cause 2 saw Eidos' title fall only to number two, with a 21 per cent drop in sales. EA's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 experienced only a 7 per cent drop in sales at number three.

Sales for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 rose by as much as 52 per cent at number four, primarily as a result of the release of the Stimulus downloadable map pack and a subsequent increase in sales of the Xbox 360 version of the game.

FIFA 10 also saw a significant boost over Easter, in large part due to retailer discounts, with a 70 per cent rise in sales at number eight.

The only new entry of the week was children's TV tie-in Peppa Pig: Fun and Games at number 27, with 2D beat 'em-up BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger just missing out on the top 40.
